Neighborhood Schools, Daycare, and Busing

School Placement: A child’s neighborhood school is determined by the parent’s physical address in the town in which they live.  In the case where a child is picked up or dropped off at a different address (i.e., daycare) this address then becomes the address that determines the child’s neighborhood school.

Child Using Bussing Services:  The selection of a neighborhood school is very important and should be made prior to registration.   Having the daycare address for your student’s pick-up/drop-off location ready at registration assures your student's placement in that neighborhood school.
Example: A child lives in the Bellevue neighborhood school boundary.  The day care address is in the Woodside neighborhood school boundary.  If using bussing services, the child’s school would be Woodside Elementary.

Location change during school year:  If a child moves to a different daycare/home address outside the neighborhood school boundary they are currently attending, parents will be responsible for their child’s transportation to and from school, if there is no room available at the new neighborhood school determined by the new address.

Please call the Transportation Department at 578.5420 for questions on bussing services and neighborhood school boundaries.
