Blaine County School District Questions McKinstry Essention, Inc.
Blaine County School District representatives are questioning the Energy Service Company (ESCO) McKinstry Essention, Inc. regarding recent renovations at Blaine County schools. The discrepancy concerns the price to be paid to McKinstry. In an unusual turn of events, the District and McKinstry filed nearly simultaneous actions against each other in Blaine County District Court on the morning of May 15. BCSD and BCEA Negotations Press Release
Blaine County School District and Blaine County Education Association Reach Tentative Agreement
“After two days of positive and productive negotiations, the negotiation team from the Blaine County Education Association and the Blaine County School District reached a tentative agreement,” announced Blaine County School District Board of Trustee Chair Steve Guthrie.
The terms of that agreement will be finalized after ratification. The ratification process includes a vote by the certified members of the Blaine County Education Association and a separate vote by the Blaine County School Board of Trustees. After the ratification, all negotiated items will be released to the public.
“Until ratification, there is no valid contract to share with the public. We expect ratification to occur early next week,” said Dr. Lonnie Barber, Superintendent.
