Music Students Stand Out

Over 160 musicians, the choirs, orchestras, and bands from Wood River High School, attended the Heritage Music Festival on April 14 in Anaheim, California. All of the participating groups won awards for their performances, competing among over 2600 students from around the United States. Students in Betty Ervin’s Studio Art class at Wood River High School responded to that question with drawings of their role models. Subjects ranged from parents to rock stars. The drawings are installed in the windows of the old North and Company store for the next several weeks. The 5th grade class at Hailey Elementary School received a note from the 2012 Blaine County GOP Presidential Caucus Committee thanking the students for collecting ballots during the Super Tuesday Caucus on March 6, 2012. “The [students] reminded voters of the importance of their votes; for present day and future generations,” wrote Caucus Chair Richard Jesinger.
