BCSD One of 49 Districts Selected by Idaho Leads

Out of more than 150 Idaho school districts and charter schools, 49 were accepted to Idaho Leads, including the Blaine County School District. Participants attend four regional network meetings over 18 months where they define priorities, identify and celebrate successes, and determine areas of improvement. Each district was invited to bring a team of 10, including a trustee, student, teacher, superintendent and principal. Find out what one BCSD participant had to say about the experience here:

Students Are State Champions

Culinary students at Wood River High School are the state champions for two years in a row at the Idaho State Leadership Conference for Family, Career and Community Leaders of America. According to the FCCLA website, “Family and Consumer Sciences (FCS) education is a driving force in leadership and support to assist individuals, families and communities in making informed decisions about their well being, relationships and recourses to achieve optimal quality of life. Teacher Invited to Federal Reserve

Wood River High School teacher Tim Richards was selected to attend the Foundation for Teaching Economics conference Perspectives From and On the Federal Reserve System at the Federal Reserve of Richmond. The Chair of the Federal Reserve, Ben Bernanke, spoke and participants read and discussed classic writings on the roles of banks in society. Read more here...
