Honor Choir Students

The Bellevue Honor Choir is a dedicated group of 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade students who give up their lunch recess two days a week to practice. These students, under the direction of Marilyn Rountree, have performed for the school on several occasions - Veteran's Day and BES Christmas Programs. The Bellevue Honor Choir recently attended the 2nd annual Wood River Elementary Music Festival on March 3, 2010, where they performed for 5 other schools and for two adjudicators. These choir members sang three songs and were awarded a "Superior" rating from a panel of judges. Congratulations! Choir members look forward to upcoming performances for the BES student body, area seniors, and other local service groups. Proud to be... Bellevue Elementary!

Parent Teacher Conferences
Parent Teacher Conferences will be held
March 4th and 5th
Regular communication between parents,
teachers, and students is the key to success.

Bellevue Elementary's conferences will be held Thursday, March 4th, and Friday, March 5th. As the 2nd trimester comes to a close, we celebrate the opportunity to collaborate with your child's teacher to discuss academic progress and goals. We invite you to take an active role in your conference. Here are a few conference questions you may want to ask about your child and our school.
- What are my child's academic strengths? What areas need improvement?
- What specific things can I do to support my child and reinforce classroom lessons at home?
- How does my child do with working in groups and working independently?
- How can I stay aware of what my child's assignments are and how my child is doing in class?
- What are students expected to master by the end of the year?
- Does my child stay on task well or need frequent reminders?
- Has my child been developing good work habits?
There will be no school for students on parent teacher conference days.

Dr. Seuss Day
Let's Celebrate !
Bellevue students celebrated the birthday of well known author, Dr. Seuss, as part of the Read Across America Week. Guest readers read their favorite Dr. Seuss book to students while they ate popcorn in the library. Pictured here, Debi Gutknecht, director of special education services, dressed her part as she "Suessersized" these kindergarten students.
Thank you to Mrs. Yager and all that made our Dr. Seuss day a big hit with students!

We are the Bellevue Bears...
Welcome to the electronic home of the Bellevue Bears! I am your
principal, Angie Martinez.
Our caring staff of
50 talented staff members currently serves approximately 300
students between Preschool and 5th grade. We also house the
District’s Kindergarten and First Grade Dual Immersion Program
and provide on-site childcare through Kid Shop.
In addition to a comprehensive academic curriculum, our
students are offered specialized instruction in music, art,
integrated science and technology, physical education, and
computers. A complete Student Services Department provides
specialized instruction to students with academic challenges.
We provide students with advanced learning enrichment
opportunities, and a variety of other enhancement offerings such
as Chess Club, After School Program, Honor Choir, Orchestra, Ski
Program, and the Radio Program. We take pride in Bellevue
Elementary! It is a thoughtful and caring place: We care
for others and respect the opportunity to learn.
BES rocks!
We sport red, black and gold as our school colors. Homer Junior is our mascot and traveling companion. He takes many fabulous trips across the country with our students. We acknowledge neighborly behavior in developing strong character through Beary Good Neighbor Notes and our community service projects.
We welcome our parents to our school and extend our invitation to you!

to share my ideas and abilities,
to help others learn, be safe, and get things done,
to respect and care for myself, my school, and my community,
to be honest, responsible, and expand my learning,
to encourage myself to proudly reach my goals and become
all that I can be!
Slogan: Always be a good neighbor!
