Ketchum Police Field Day

Hemingway Pre-K through 3rd Grade students got up close and personal with members of our local law enforcement departments and their vehicles and equipment. Stations were set up with explanations and demonstrations. Students received goody bags containing a number of things, including their own Ketchum Police badge.
We thank these important members of our community for visiting and sharing with our students.

As you may have heard or read the paper, a Hemingway family, had a fire in their home. They will need to replace many items due to smoke damage. We are looking for donations of furniture, clothes, etc..., and/or money. If you would like to donate something, please refer to the information below:
An account has been set up at Wells Fargo Bank in the family's name for cash donations.

Did you know that "dry" ice is the solid form of the gas carbon dioxide, which is a normal part of our atmosphere?
 
"How can ice be dry?" you may wonder. Dry ice doesn't melt into a liquid state; it "sublimates", or goes directly into it's gaseous form. Since it doesn't become "wet", it's "dry".
What do you think happens when you put dry ice in a closed container, like a film canister?
