We are really excited about the success of our Publishing House, in place since 1990. The publication of children's writings is an essential element in the writing process. It gives children an opportunity to write for a real purpose, providing an audience for their efforts, and acknowledges the importance we place on this life time skill. Publishing students' writings validates the importance we place in the writing process. Our school publishing house is staffed and supported by Hemingway parent volunteers.

Our Publishing House was featured in a well-known national educator's magazine, the 1993 November/December issue of Instructor. The movement in education to connect children's writing to reading through publishing is here to stay. We are fortunate to have such a valuable and successful program in our school.
