Welcome to Wood River High School and the Wolverine Rage!  Our staff and students work together in an excellent learning environment designed to challenge everyone to do their best.

WRHS works hard to be a school for everyone  The academic program at Wood River High School is focused on student learning and success beginning in the ninth grade.  Our new transition program for ninth graders ensures that all students will be well known by a team of staff members who work with the students and parents to guide them over the course of their freshmen year.

Beyond the core subjects of math, English, social studies and science, we offer a broad range of academic and elective classes.  Our students have access to Advanced Placement and Honors coursework, four world languages (Latin, French, German and Spanish), applied technology in business education, family and consumer science and a broad selection of electives in the arts and humanities.  The Academy program is a cornerstone of our work that engages students in a future career while maintaining a college prep track.

The school is proud of its athletic teams and activities that offer the students an opportunity to grow and participate in a meaningful way in school.  We encourage all students to find an activity or team to join from their first days in the school.  Students participate in debate, drama, BPA, chess and music (both choral and instrumental), just to name a few.

Built five years ago by a supportive and caring community, Wood River High School is one of the finest facilities and schools in our state.  We encourage you to visit and join our school community.
