Clinic Provides Sports Physicals

Students planning to participate in school-sponsored sports next year need to have a sports physical on file.  Physicals are good for two years, so if your child had a physical this year or the Spring of last year, they are still good.

ALL 8th GRADE STUDENTS ENTERING THE HIGH SCHOOL NEED TO HAVE A NEW PHYSICAL IF THEY ARE PARTICIPATING IN HIGH SCHOOL SPORTS!

Students can pick up a physical form and Student Discount Card (Physicals are only $20.00 with this card) in the office.  Insurance does not apply.  Appointments will be taken at the clinic from May 1st - June 29th.  Appointments will be made for the following dates and times:

May 30th  6:00 - 8:00 p.m.
June 4th 4:00 - 8:00 p.m.
June 12th 6:00 - 8:00 p.m.
June 19th 5:00 - 8:00 p.m.
June 21st 6:00 - 8:00 p.m.

WRMS Welcomes Fifth Graders

Wood River Middle School will hold a Fifth Grade Visitation Night on Wednesday, May 16th to welcome next year's sixth graders.  This is a great opportunity to learn about the elective programs offered at our school, meet the sixth grade teachers, tour the building, and learn about Resident Outdoor Environmental School.

April Students of the Month

Each month, teams recognize a student as Student of the Month.  Students who embody the characteristics of the IB Learner Profile are nominated for their achievemnets.  The trait for April was Knowledgeable.  Knowledgeable people explore concepts, ideas and issues that have local and global significance.  In so doing, they acquire in-depth knowledge and develop understanding across a broad and balanced range of disciplines.  Congratulations to April winners:  Kevin Virula, Sydney Roberts, Megan Johnston, Emily Stone, Delaney Brassil, Nelson Cantrell, and Grace Hoffman (not pictured).

8th Grade Pre-Registration for 9th Grade
Monday, April 23, 2012

8th grade students will begin the pre-registration process for high school at the end of this month.  Here are the important dates to remember:

Monday, April 30 

WRHS students and counselors will speak to all 8th grade students about high school and college/career planning.

Tuesday, May 1st

WRHS counselors and administrators will discuss and hand out 9th grade pre-registration materials and 4-Year Plans during Science classes.

Thursday, May 10th

WRHS Parent Night at 6:30

WRMS Counselors will be available at lunch on select days outside the cafeteria from May 2nd to May 10th to help 8th grade students with pre-registration forms and 4-Year Plans.

All Pre-Registration paperwork is due on May 10th at Parent Night or to the WRMS Counselors on May 11th
