Phase one complete! The 8th grade Advanced Technology Class finished phase one of the sustainable energy vehicle in the spring 2007 semester. This vehicle was designed and built by the 8th grade students and made possible by a grant from Power Engineers. It is powered by two 12 volt batteries that are charged by a 5 watt solar panel. The chassis is PVC reinforced with steel. Phase two which will begin in the spring of 2008 will concentrate on redesigning the chassis and refining the steering, braking, and power systems.
