Students Still Need Sleep!

With our longer and lighter days and evenings this time of year, it is important to remember that our children still need a good deal of rest before starting their school day.  We know it's more difficult to get children to bed on time these evenings, but TV, video games, and playing outside can interfere greatly with a student's performance in the classroom and in testing.  Our ISAT exams start on April 14, and we know that students who are well rested will perform their best on these tests. Bedtime is still important!

Playground Peace Wheel

Students from Silver Creek Alternative School have painted a "Peace Wheel" on our playground blacktop.  The Peace Wheel is a tool used to help students problem solve. If a student or group of students is having a problem, they can go to the Peace Wheel. They can choose the best solution to their problem from the options on the Peace Wheel.  Hopefully, these suggestions, over time, will become second nature to students when they are faced with the need to solve problems. Thanks so much to the students from Silver Creek Alternative School for their hard work and their support of the students of Woodside Elementary.
