Teenage Safe House Benefit

Silver Creek High School student Taylor Jameson is launching her Senior Project. She writes, "I will put together a series of fundraising activities to raise money for a teen shelter that Mr. Bohl is hoping to open. The teen shelter will be for teens who have nowhere else to go, and when the teens enter the shelter Mr. Bohl will provide honest answers for them. I plan on learning the skills of putting a fundraiser together, and I also plan on being completely involved with Mr. Bohl's visions for his shelter." For more information, click on the flyer.

Souper Supper

Another successful night at St. Charles Parish Hall. The students of Silver Creek cooked and served a Hawaiian Plate Dinner. Teriyaki chicken thighs, steamed rice, macaroni salad, served with a blueberry muffin. For dessert we served root beer floats and hot fudge brownie sundaes. We had over 50 people who came to dine. We will be cooking again in April.

Congratulations to the seniors. We had eleven projects presented on Monday, January 23rd. We, the staff and students, would like to thank the judges for spending the day with us.

Senior Makeover Day

Noelle Hodge Willett, from Oxygen Mineral Makeup, came to our school this week and spent the morning with girls from Mrs. Jill Bailey's senior project class. By showing these senior girls how to apply makeup and discussing ways of appearance for job interviews, they learned how to present themselves to future employers. At the end, they all received a free makeup consultation and application.

Souper Supper

Another successful dinner was served last Monday night at St. Charles Parish Hall. The Crew of Students cooked chicken, corn, green beans and a dinner roll.  Atkinsons Market provided us with salad fixings and drinks. Albertson bakery provided an array of desserts. A bonus that night was an appearence by the Wood River Community Orchestra, who played Christmas music throughout the dinner. Thank you All!

Ropes Course

Last week Silver Creek High School students made the trip to CSI in Twin Falls. Half of the student body completed the the ropes course, while the other half took a tour of the campus. We got to visit an anatomy class in progress, the highlight of the trip. The professor brought out the lab cadaver, which CSI has had for 15 years.

The Students of Silver Creek served dinner last Monday night at St. Charles Parish Hall. Every Monday and Thursday, a free meal is offered to the community. This is a great opportunity for our students to give back and offer their services. They not only serve dinner, but they prepare, cook, and clean up. It is not only community service but a whole lot of fun. This month's menu was chili dogs, watermelon, potato salad, potato chips, and ice cream sundaes for dessert. We will be serving again November 3rd.

We are trying to streamline the registration process this year -- all registration materials are available online using your Skyward Family Access username and password. Save time by printing and filling out the forms BEFORE you come to registration. ALL FEES CAN BE PAID ONLINE -- follow the online instructions found under Skyward Family Access -- Registration. Please PRINT ALL forms, fill them out as needed, SIGN them and drop off your completed forms during registration.

If you are new to the District or moving up from the WRMS, a new "PROOF OF RESIDENCY" form will need to be completed. Please bring supporting documents -- two current utility bills and your Valid Idaho ID.
