Board of Trustees Appoints Ellen Mandeville for Zone 3
Four candidates applied for the Board of Trustees vacancy for Zone 3. The four candidates were Johnny Galgano, Irene Healy, Ellen Mandeville and Kaz Thea. Pamela Plowman applied and withdrew her name prior to the meeting. The candidates were interviewed in an open meeting on Thursday, November 3 at the Community Campus. The Board of Trustees voted unanimously to approve the nomination for Ellen Mandeville. Watch the webcast here.
Born and raised in Southern California, Ellen Mandeville attended schools in the Glendale Unified School District K-12. She then earned a B.A. in English Literature at UC, Santa Cruz. She and her husband lived aboard their sailboat for eight years, sailing up and down the west coast from Canada and to Mexico, then across the Pacific and through the S. Pacific Islands to New Zealand. After three years living in New Zealand, they moved to the Wood River Valley twelve years ago. Their two children have been continuously enrolled in BCSD schools since 2007 when their oldest entered Kindergarten. She is excited to serve the Blaine County School District community as School Board Trustee.
