4th Grade Dual Immersion ~ Doble inmersión de 4to grado
I've been teaching since 1989. I've taught in Hollister, a small, rural town south of Twin Falls, Shoshone, and here at Hemingway.
In the 2016-2017 school year we all took calsses in STEAM education. I also attended the National Science Teachers Association STEAM conference for a week in July in Florida. In addition to the NSTA conference, during the summer we worked on revamping our curriculum to reflect a more of a STEAM vision and had additional professional development in August.
What I really like about the STEAM philosophy is the opportunity to integrate subject areas as much as possible. Kids are engaged when they see connections to multiple areas of the curriculum. Plus it's fun!
In my free time I enjoy playing violin and mondolin. I play in an Irish band, a bluegrass/country band, and the regional orchestra, Magic Valley symphony. In the summer I like to paddleboard and hang out at my cabin at East Magic Reservoir. In the winter I like to showshoe out the canyons by my house.
I attended Hemingway as a kid and I love being back to teach her as an adult. Hemingway STEAM School is awesome!
He estado enseñando desde 1989, y he enseñado cada curso excepto segundo grado.
