Bellevue Parent Auxiliary
BES Parent Teacher Association 2016-2017 Leaders: Tifny Lago and Sharma Thornton
Our Bellevue PTA is Active & Invites YOUR Participation!
As the largest volunteer child advocacy association in the nation, Parent Teacher Association (PTA) reminds our country of its obligations to children and provides parents and families with a powerful voice to speak on behalf of every child while providing the best tools for parents to help their children be successful students.
There was a great turnout for the first monthly PTA meeting held at Sharma Thornton's house. Sharma and Tifny talked about working with art teacher, Kate O'Brien, with the Art to Remember Fundraiser. Ms. O'Brien is on board and the fundraiser will be tied in with our annual Art/Poetry Night in the spring.
There is a strong possibility that PTA will no longer be able to offer the skate night for the elementary schools in the winter. However, Diana Gomez and Tanya Lopez volunteered to head a winter carnival instead. The carnival would be held after the holidays in January or February. More information to come.
Suzanne Kiflawi, BES music teacher asked the PTA for help with getting the word out about the Veterans Day Assembly and help decorating the stage and gym for the holiday concerts. If you are willing to help Suzanne out, please give her a call at 578-5080 ext# 2834.
We want to do more than just fundraising to support our students at Bellevue Elementary School. We want to align and support the school's goal of increasing community involvement!
Here are some things you might consider :
- Listening to a child practice his/her reading
- Calling parents for support
- Assist with bookmaking
- Contacting local businesses
- Assisting with schoolwide events
- Anything else?
We hope you consider joining our efforts.

Thank you to our BPA and community for their generous donations for our great new playground!
