I'm excited to be here at Wood River Middle School. I've been working in education for over 17 years. I have an undergraduate from Boise State University in English teaching. I started at East Junior High in Boise and worked with the Bridge Program (refugees) at Borah High School. After I obtained a Master's in Education with an emphasis in Literacy and Culture, I then became an Educational Specialist advocating for students in the foster care system that are impacted by trauma. I decided to go back to the classroom where I worked for 4 years at Silver Creek High School as an English teacher. There I taught 9th grade, 10th grade, 11th grade, 12th grade, and College English 101 and 175. I've now come full circle back to the 8th grade where we focus on ideas, critical thinking, and becoming literate, thoughtful citizens. I have high expectations and love to challenge students. I've also coached high school swimming and ski racing.

When I'm not teaching, I'm raising my own teenager. We love reading, yoga, poetry, music, movies, baseball, skiing, and hiking with our two poodles (Winnie and Jessie).
