Lucas Smith

Lucas Smith has the prestigious honor of being recognized as a National Merit Scholar in the 2024 National Merit Scholarship Program for his academic talent. This incredible achievement was given to just over 16,000 students nationally. The recognition as a semifinalist gives him the opportunity to continue in the Merit Scholarship competition and advance to Finalist standing by meeting a number of additional requirements. Finalists compete for 7,140 National Merit Scholarships worth nearly $28 million. One of the enduring goals of the NMSC is “to promote wider and deeper respect for learning in general and for exceptionally talented individuals in particular.” Congratulations to Lucas Smith for being one of those students!

WRHS’s Commended Student in National Merit Scholarship Program

Dionise Guerra-Carrillo

Dionise Guerra-Carrillo has been recognized as a Commended Student in the 2024 National Merit Scholarship Program. About 34,000 Commended Students throughout the nation are being recognized for their exceptional academic promise. Although they will not continue in the 2024 competition for National Merit Scholarship awards, Commended Students placed among the top 50,000 students who entered the 2024 competition by taking the 2022 PSAT/NMSQT test last October. We at WRHS are so proud of Dionise’s amazing accomplishment!
