ELD – English Language Development

I've been teaching since 1989. I've taught in Hollister, a small, rural town south of Twin Falls, in Shoshone, and here at Hemingway.

I have a Bachelor’s degree in bilingual education from BSU and recently received my Master’s in immersion education and ELD instructional practices from the University of Minnesota. Because of this, when a position opened up in the ELD department, I moved from the classroom to being an ELD teacher. While I miss the classroom, I enjoy going into different grade levels and classes.

In my free time I enjoy playing violin and mandolin. I play in an Irish band, a bluegrass/country band, and the regional orchestra, Magic Valley symphony. In the summer I like to paddleboard and hang out at my cabin at East Magic Reservoir. In the winter I like to snowshoe out the canyons by my house.

I attended Hemingway as a kid and I love being back to teach here as an adult. Hemingway STEAM School is awesome!
