Ms. Claudia Gaeddert
I'm one of those unique individuals who has always loved math and science. In high school I attended state math competitions and in college I gobbled up science and engineering classes. While learning and working with math and science concepts, I feel my mind sharpen as I extend my problem solving and critical thinking skills. My hope is that through this school year my students will experience this mind-sharpening feeling as well. I spent most of my childhood years in New Jersey and my teenage and college years in Kansas. I earned a B.S in chemical engineering from the University of Kansas, worked for Exxon for a couple of years, and then made my move west to attend graduate school at Utah State University. After earning a masters in environmental engineering I wandered up to Hailey, Idaho and have lived here for the past 27 years. I worked as an engineer with Power Engineers for 7 years and then worked as a consulting engineer, mostly in water quality, for the following 10 years. Teaching is my "second career" and I earned certifications in secondary math and science through the PACE program at Lewis-Clark State College. This is my eighth year as a full-time teacher and I'm pleased to be in the classroom!
