I have always loved building and making things. If you love the same you have found a kindred spirit. As a kid I grew up in Michigan, and the summer I graduated from High School hopped on a Greyhound bus and made a beeline for the rocky mountains. I earned an associates degree in Drafting and worked for Marathon Oil for 5 years as a draftsman. At the age of 26 I returned to school to earn a degree in Technical Education from the University of Wyoming. I had been a ski instructor for 5 years during that time and discovered that I loved the process of instruction, and of course skiing. I located my first teaching job in Yreka, CA. just south of the Oregon state line. While there I sponsored the High School ski club with trips to Shasta, Mt. Ashland and Bachelor. I liked it there but felt a draw to return to the rocky mountains. When I located a vacancy in Hailey, ID. I knew I had found my paradise and have been living in paradise for 22 years. I also earned my masters degree during the summers from Utah State University. In the winter of 2010/11 I started a robotics team with three students and it has grown to include 6 teams here at the high school and competition teams at the middle school and elementary. It has been a wonderful ride living, raising a family and teaching here in the Wood River Valley and still pinch myself to believe it’s true.
