Contacting Board of Trustees
The Blaine County School District Board of Trustees welcomes community engagement. To ensure fairness, transparency, and compliance with Idaho law, trustees must follow specific ethical and governance guidelines when communicating with the public.
Please note:

Employee concerns: Complaints or grievances about BCSD employees should not be shared directly with Board members, as this may affect their ability to act impartially. For assistance, contact the Clerk of the Board at 208-578-5003 or clerk@blaineschools.org.

Public records: Written communications with Board members are public records and may be disclosed upon request.

Disclosure requirements: If information you share with a trustee is used in an upcoming decision, both the information and its source may be disclosed in an open meeting and become part of the public record.

In April 2021, the Blaine County School District Board of Directors launched a new way for community members to post public comments on specific agenda items prior to board meetings.
This tool also makes it possible for residents to submit unpublished comments at any time, for review and consideration by management. The public comment system provides greater transparency as it relates to the board and the district, as well as improving the level of communication between the public and the board. In addition, it enables greater public access and participation.
By using the system, community members no longer need to search for each board member's email address to submit their comments. Residents can even submit comments in English or Spanish, from a desktop or mobile device.
Comments need to be submitted by noon on the day of the meeting.

Sistema de comentarios públicos
En abril de 2021, la Junta directiva del distrito escolar del condado de Blaine lanzó una nueva forma para que los miembros de la comunidad publiquen comentarios públicos sobre puntos específicos de la agenda antes de las reuniones de la junta. Esta herramienta también posibilita que los residentes envíen comentarios no publicados en cualquier momento, para revisión y consideración de los directivos.
El sistema de comentarios públicos ofrece mayor transparencia en lo que respecta a la junta y el distrito, además de mejorar el nivel de comunicación entre el público y la junta directiva. Además, posibilita un mayor acceso y participación del público.
Al usar el sistema, los miembros de la comunidad ya no necesitan buscar la dirección de correo electrónico de cada miembro de la junta para enviar sus comentarios. Incluso, los residentes pueden enviar comentarios en inglés o en español, desde un equipo de escritorio o un dispositivo móvil.
