BCSD Board Approves Full In-Person Learning for Elementary Schools

Dear BCSD Community,
On Wednesday, January 27, the BCSD Board of Trustees voted 4-1 to open all district elementary schools to full in-person learning. As a result, our elementary schools will begin in-person learning four days a week, Monday through Thursday, on Monday, February 8.
This shift applies to all prekindergarten through 5th grade students attending Alturas, Bellevue, Ernest Hemingway STEAM, and Hailey, as well as all prekindergarten through 6th grade students at Carey School. (At Carey, 6th graders are still considered elementary students.)
Moving forward, our current hybrid model will remain in effect for all students at Wood River Middle School, Wood River High School, and Silver Creek High School, along with 7th-12th grade students at Carey. These students will continue to attend in-person classes based on their last times, with A-L on Monday/Wednesday and M-Z on Tuesday/Thursday.
As we increase the level of in-person learning at our elementary levels, we will continue to follow stringent health and safety protocols in our buildings. All students and staff will be required to wear face coverings at all times. We will work to ensure as much social distancing as possible and provide students with frequent opportunities to wash their hands.
Thank you for your continued support and flexibility as we work to protect the health and safety of our students, staff, and families. If you have any questions, please reach out to your student’s building principal.
