Students Meet Documentary Filmmaker
Filmmaker and journalist Reed Lindsay spoke to Wood River High School students about his feature length documentary Charlie vs. Goliath and his work as a journalist covering a number of protests around the world (including the Egyptian Revolution and Standing Rock). WRHS English teacher Eleanor Jewett Rogers wrote, “10th grade English and Advanced Placement English Language and Composition are studying civil protests. In 10th English, students are reading Martin Luther King’s "A Letter from Birmingham Jail," Gandhi's "Letter to Lord Viceroy" and Wael Ghonim's "Revolution 2.0" to explore the idea of freedom and argue for a definition of it. In AP English, we are studying Thoreau's Civil Disobedience and effective argumentation.” Lindsay’s documentary Charlie vs. Goliath was featured at the recent Sun Valley Film Festival.
