Student Helps Create Iconic Snow Sculpture
Almost everyone knows the iconic Sun Valley Sun in front of the Sun Valley Lodge, but not everyone knows the team who builds the sculpture out of ice and snow each year. Sean Sheehan has been helping his dad create the sun sculpture since he was old enough to carry a hose and shovel. This year, Sean was thrilled to be his father’s apprentice from the design stages all the way through building, carving, and sculpting the sun. Sean called it his, “best Christmas present ever!” As part of his home-schooling when he was 13, Sean wrote an article for Idaho Magazine detailing the process. Read more about Sean in this Student Spotlight.
