Nick Domke’s journey at Silver Creek High School has been one that can be best described as filled with growth.  In his time at Silver Creek, Nick has investigated the violin, culinary arts, botany, art and animals.  He has also become an extremely skilled writer and shown tremendous aptitude in Mathematics. Nick has become an ardent pursuer of knowledge and is extremely motivated to live a highly successful and fulfilling life. Nick is probably most talented in the world of technology.  

His sophomore year he assembled what classmates referred to as “the most powerful gaming computer in the valley” in roughly a 24 hour span in his garage. This is also the the year Nick began formally investigating the world of programming languages.  He dove into this while on an internship with the BCSD Technology Department.  He has studied Bash, Python, and JavaScript.

In Nick’s junior year, he interned at the Blaine County Education Foundation. It was there that he reconfigured the website to more fulfill the vision of director Kristy Heitzman. He took a new interest in Cyber Security and began exploring that realm.  

In his senior year, Nick has continued his penchant for all things technology.  He spent a short time shadowing employees at Marketron to see what one tech career pathway could look like.  He has also done hardware, software and networking for The Hunger Coalition and the Animal Shelter of the Wood River Valley. He has been accepted into Western Governor’s University and plans on pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Information Technology - Security

Nick has been a bedrock member of what has been a very strong culture of acceptance, leadership and community service while at Silver Creek. Nick, along with several other seniors, will graduate as the first SCHS class to have engaged in the Big Picture Learning model of real world learning and internships. The staff at Silver Creek has been proud to place Nick Domke into the real world as an intern and a representative of the Dragon Community.
