401 Spotlight - Adriana

Senior student Adriana Adriana Sanchez is blessed with a tremendous amount of talent, charisma and passion for life.  For three years, she has been a mainstay of this year’s senior class.  She is adept in the arts such as drawing, paint, clay, elements of design, culinary and photography.  She is very interested in cosmetology and has a knack with fashion.  Her growth as a leader and talents in fashion and design were evident as she coordinated, planned and oversaw logistics and decoration of the Silver Creek Prom.  She has also mentored younger students and dove into the world of internships and learning in the real world.  She had one of our most engaging internships early in our implementation of Big Picture Learning. Adriana is very effective in the area of interpersonal communication and human relations because people often find her energetic, optimistic, uplifting and easy to engage. Adriana recently took the CLEP Exam at Boise State University where she scored high enough to earn 16 college Spanish credits. She is very resilient and has become someone who others can look to as an example of never letting anything get you down, overcoming adversity and smiling through it all.  The Smile--that’s the first thing you’ll notice about Adriana, that big, genuine, “fills the room” smile.  She is not sure where at this time, but that smile will accompany her to a campus at some point in the near future and that campus will be better off the day she arrives!
