Personal Project Student Exhibition
Wood River High School
Wednesday, May 17
5:30-7:30 p.m.
The public is invited to see 10th grade student personal projects at Wood River High School. Personal projects are student-driven, independent learning projects supported by teachers and community members. The projects foster student curiosity, nurture student passions, and help students explore their own ideas for the future. Projects include music, culinary, 3-D street art, design, cosmetology, robotics, back-country expedition, dance, sports, primitive arts, building skis, darkroom, building sword, mechanics, auto body work, instruments, language, wedding planning, photography, sewing, and novel writing.
Student Zach Deal (pictured above) built an underwater drone, combining his passion for swimming and robotics. "This experience taught real life skills. This project has been able to cement my goals for life after high school and that is to pursue a career in mechanical or electrical engineering," stated Zach. The public is invited to meet Zach and his classmates to learn more about their personal projects.
A barbecue and a celebration for the students will be held at 7:00 p.m. Students will be recognized for their accomplishments. For more information, contact personal project coordinator and teacher Sarah Allen.
