Student Awarded Congressional Medal
Wood River High School Valedictorian, Jesse Cole, was presented the Congressional Gold Award on August 17, 2017 by Senator Michelle Stennett and representatives from Senators Crapo’s and Risch’s offices. Jesse was invited to the White House for the awards ceremony in June, but was unable to attend. For her Congressional Gold Award she volunteered over 400 hours with the Hunger Coalition and Hope Garden. She also had goals in academic, physical fitness, and personal growth areas she achieved. Her advisors were Millie Riedy, Matt Billings, and Jacki Strope. Jesse was presented with the Gold award the day before she flew out to attend Johns Hopkins University.
