BCSD to Hire New Transportation Supervisor, High School Principal

The Blaine County School District is hiring a new district transportation supervisor and principal of Wood River High School.

The transportation supervisor oversees busing and all other transportation activities across the district and its schools. The incoming supervisor will fill the role previously held by Lance Doby, who is moving into a position in the private sector.

“We want to thank Lance for his work over his time in our district to bring new technologies to the transportation services for all our students,” said Fritz Peters, Interim Superintendent of BCSD. “We commend him for his work during a number of transitions the department had to make over the last half decade. We wish him the best of luck in his future endeavors.”

The WRHS principal serves as the educational leader of the school, responsible for creating and maintaining a positive, safe, and high-standards learning environment, supervising building faculty and staff and managing all resources in accordance with BCSD’s mission, goals and policies. The individual hired for the role will provide effective evaluation and professional coaching to instructional and support staff, while developing and implementing professional learning communities.

The next WRHS principal will replace Mr. John Pearce, who served in the role for the past five years. He has stepped down as principal to pursue new career opportunities.

“We would like to thank John for his leadership and dedication to the students, staff and families of Wood River High School. Mr. Pearce worked daily to bring equity to all students at WRHS.  We wish him the very best as he moves on to the next stage in his educational career,” Peters said. “Now, we are turning our attention to finding and hiring the next principal at the school. We look forward to engaging in this process over the coming days and weeks.”
