Students Are Educated
Two Hailey Elementary English Language Development teachers volunteered their time three days a week for 21 weeks to provide an interactive language and literacy program for 26 students with additional support from two paraprofessionals last school year.
Meet Nattapol (Tigger) Wongsamut. Tigger participated in the after school program at Hailey Elementary and his reading growth was double that of the average student. Tigger said, “I read over 270 books after school last year. Now I can do math better and read better. I like reading, rhyming and learning new words. I like technology and finding clues.”
Thank you to the Hailey Elementary staff who volunteered their time to help students like Tigger and many other students at Hailey Elementary. This story and others were recognized at the Board of Trustees meeting in October, 2017. Trustee Garrison stated, “I want to thank the staff who work so hard to help students at Hailey.”
