First Grade Garden

first grade student gardens First Grade Garden

First-grade students at Bellevue studied plants and seeds in order to create their own experimental gardens.  After input from local experts at WEBB nursery and the hunger coalition's Bloom garden, students selected seeds that would grow best in the Bellevue spring weather. The classes sprouted the seeds indoors and recently moved them outside to the front of the school into garden beds made from up-cycled bike boxes.  The children will continue to tend and monitor their seedlings until the end of the year.  First graders hope to donate the successful seedlings to the Bloom garden

The first-grade students and teachers would like to thank Mark Martins, Sun Valley Garden Center, and WEBB nursery for their generous donations of supplies for the gardens
