Community Campus

  • Community Campus Summer The multi-use facilities of the Community Campus are open to the public.  The public can rent space for meetings, classes, luncheons, conferences, recreation and entertainment.  The fees are very reasonable to encourage use of the building.

The Community Campus is a dynamic and popular gathering place for people of all ages.  The School District wanted to share the former high school with the community, so they joined forces with the College of Southern Idaho and the Blaine County Recreation District to create a much needed learning and activity center that is now busy from morning to night.

You'll find young Footlight dancers alongside adults studying subjects from A to Z.  Concerts and special events are held in the recently renovated theater, and the gymnasium is always busy.  The Campus Cafe invites visitors to have a bite and browse the web, and the HUB is a safe, supervised place for kids in grades K through 6 meet and have fun.  The Community Campus serves as a polling place during elections, and the Red Cross set up emergency headquarters in the building during the powerful Beaver Creek Fire in the summer of 2013 and the Castle Rock Fire in  2007.  They provided food, shelter, and information to residents forced to evacuate their homes.

The School District still uses part of the facilities for its academies and school-to-work programs.  The Blaine County Education Foundation, Lee Pesky Learning Center and Blaine County Community Drug Coalition are housed here.  CSI's Blaine County Center offers lower-division college classes, as well as community education programs for adults and children.  They also oversee the Head Start program.  The Recreation District coordinates their excellent indoor and outdoor activities from the Community Campus.  The Sun Valley Summer Symphony School of Music trains young musicians in our new music room and black box theater.  Our Annual Student Juried Art Exhibits bring additional life and color to a wonderful community asset

The Community Campus has a mission to serve people of all ages through outstanding artistic, educational and recreational experiences that enrich and inspire all who participate.
