The Studio
Our Sound Studio was created during the 2015/2016 school year by then senior Tyson Spellman as an internship project. Tyson's internship was being the Project Manager for the construction of the recording studio at Silver Creek High School. Tyson worked with Nick Gilman at Lee Gilman Construction, Vital Ink Architect Jolyon Sawyer, Howard Royale and the district maintenance staff, and Silver Creek Principal Mike Glenn to complete the project. The idea to install a recording studio came from Silver Creek students expressing their desire to pursue their interests and passions in creating and recording music. The project could not be completed without the support of countless community partners. Everyone at SCHS would like to express our gratitude and thanks to everyone involve in the project from donating supplies to volunteer to help with the construction. Last year several students learned how to use the equipment and some recorded singing and instrumental performance. The Blaine County School District office staff even used the studio to create a holiday recording of “Frosty The Snowman” as part of their holiday letter to the district.Our Sound Studio uses industry standard equipment. We use a high end late 2015 Macintosh computer. Our audio interface is a Behringer U-Phoria UMC1820. We use studio quality condenser microphones, and directional microphones. We can record 2-4 people at a time using our setup. We have plenty of extra equipment available as well in the event that we need it during recording.
