I first began working with Silver Creek High School as a practicum student while I was completing my Masters in Social Work during the 2016/2017 school year. I was then hired full-time at the end of the 2018 school year. I received my undergraduate degree from James Madison University in 2010 with a bachelors degree in Modern Foreign Languages and a minor in Cultural Communication. I completed my Masters in Social Work degree from Boise State University, graduating in 2018.
My work experience has been varied over the years, and includes both non-profit and healthcare work. I have worked at Canyon View in Twin Falls as a social work practicum intern helping those with acute mental illness (diagnosing, leading groups, and providing one-on-one counseling). I have also worked at the St Luke's Outpatient Mental Health Clinic in Twin Falls as a social work practicum intern, seeing individuals and couples in one-on-one therapy. I am currently receiving clinical supervision in order to sharpen my skills and help serve our students more effectively.
My therapeutic interests lie in somatic experiencing/coping skills (i.e. TRM, DBT, and Mindfulness) and all trauma-informed practices. I am currently volunteering with the Flourish Foundation in their Compassionate Leaders program. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my husband, friends, and dogs in the mountains either rock climbing, trail running, hiking, or backcountry skiing.
