Hello.  Good to see you visiting this page.  I am Mr. Lane Kirkland.  I teach history for grades 7-12 and coach football, basketball, and track. I was born and raised right here in old town Carey, Idaho.  I graduated from Carey High School in 1989.  I served an LDS mission to Davao City, Philippines from 1990-1992. I attended and graduated from Ricks College in 1993 and moved to Boise to attend BSU.  In the meantime, I married my beautiful wife, Christina, in 1993.  We have 6 children.   I graduated from BSU with a degree in History in 1996 and moved back to Carey.  I worked off and on for different people for a few years while I attended ISU for two years to obtain a teaching certificate.  My first teaching and coaching job was in Oakley, Idaho in 1998. I taught history and was the 11-man football coach.   I stayed there one year and then got a teaching position at Wood River High School, where I taught history for 2 years and coached basketball and track. In 2001 my father retired from his history position in Carey and I applied. The rest is history.   It is great to be back home and I love what I do every day!
