Blaine County Board of Trustees Appoints Leah Scarnegi to Vacant Seat

The Blaine County School District Board of Trustees unanimously appointed Leah Scarnegi to fill the Zone 3 board seat, which represents east Hailey, at its regular meeting on Tuesday, September 10.

As Chief Revenue Officer at Redfish Technology, Scarnegi has played a key role in the company's growth over the past 13 years. She oversees teams focused on recruitment, particularly for educational technology software companies. Scarnegi’s background also includes sales, relationship building, and account management. She holds a dual bachelor’s degree in journalism and history from Rutgers University.

“We are very excited to welcome Leah Scarnegi to the Blaine County School District Board of Trustees,” said Board Chair Lara Stone. “As a parent, business professional, and active member of the community, she brings valuable experience and insight to our board. We are inspired by her passion for creating opportunities for all BCSD students to truly thrive.”

Originally from Dublin, Ireland, Scarnegi grew up in New Jersey and has lived in the Sun Valley for 18 years. She and her husband have two daughters who attend Alturas Elementary.

“I am honored to have been appointed to serve on the Blaine County School District Board of Trustees,” said Scarnegi. “My primary objective is to be an active and engaged member of the board committed to representing the interests of our community while balancing the needs of students, educators, staff, and parents. My goal is to foster an environment where every child can thrive—academically, socially, and emotionally—by supporting initiatives that promote well-rounded development and equitable opportunities for all.”

“I am grateful to the board and all applicants for their time and dedication to this thorough selection process,” said Jim Foudy, Superintendent. “Mrs. Scarnegi’s commitment to students, education, and our community makes her an excellent addition to the board. I look forward to working with her in this role.”

Scarnegi will be sworn in at the next regular board meeting on October 8 at 6:00pm, and will serve until the term expires in 2028.
