Miss Kristin Cassalia - Second Grade
I have been teaching first grade since the 2016-2017 school year. I couldn't be more excited!! I started working for Blaine County School District in special education as a paraprofessional. I then went on to earn my masters degree, and I became a special education teacher. I taught in special education for over the 10 years.
I graduated from the University of Hawai'i in 2000, and continued my education online through Grand Canyon University after moving to Idaho. I completed my Masters of Education from Grand Canyon University in 2006. I have been working for Blaine County School District since 2002. I started as a substitute teacher and was hired for the remaining of the 2002-2003 school year in January, as a paraprofessional, in special education at Wood River Middle School.
I student taught at Bellevue Elementary in the fall of 2006. I then was hired as a paraprofessional at Woodside Elementary for the remaining of the 2006-2007 school year in a life skills classroom. In the fall of 2007, I began my teaching career as an 8th grade special education teacher. In the fall of 2008, I had the opportunity to return to elementary school and began teaching special education K-5 at Woodside, which became Alturas Elementary in 2014.
I am very eager and excited to be teaching in a dual immersion school with an amazing team of professionals. I couldn't be more happy to be teaching 1st grade students.
