With encouragement and their own enthusiasm, students volunteered during their recess time to pick up trash from Alturas playground.  It has been a long winter and it took a long time for the snow on the ground to melt.  Now what was left was trash that had been thrown during this winter.  Alturas students rose to the challenge and demonstrated a lot of pride in their school by helping clean up the grounds.  Armed with plastic bags, teams of two or more students made the playground look clean and inviting!!  It was a wonderful opportunity to learn the value of taking care of our mother Earth.

Con ánimo y su propio entusiasmo, los estudiantes se ofrecieron como voluntarios durante su tiempo de recreo para recoger la basura del patio de Alturas. Ha sido un largo invierno y la nieve en el suelo tardó mucho tiempo en fundirse. Ahora lo que quedaba era la basura que se había tirado durante este invierno. Los estudiantes de Alturas aceptaron el desafío y demostraron mucho orgullo en su escuela al ayudar a limpiar el terreno. ¡Armados con bolsas de plástico, equipos de dos o más estudiantes hicieron que el área de juegos se viera limpia y atractiva! Fue una maravillosa oportunidad para aprender el valor de cuidar a nuestra madre Tierra.
