CONGRATULATIONS TO OUR HISPANIC HEROES

photo of Hispanic Heroes from Hispanic Heritage Festival Congratulations to the community members and staff recognized as Hispanic Heroes at the 2nd Annual Hispanic Heritage Festival on Saturday, September 21 at Roberta McKercher Park in Hailey, Idaho.  Several staff members were recognized, including Alturas teacher Edith Lopez, WRHS teacher Michel Sewell, WRMS teacher Jorge Pulleiro, and Communications Director Heather Crocker. 

Community members and students included: Jason Shearer, Darrel Harris, Angenie McCleary, Pamela Donoso, Martha Botello, Theofila Mendoza, Monica Carrillo, Blanca Romero, Jan Murray, Molly Page, Representative Muffy Davis, Paty Tobin, Senator Michelle Stennett, Bob Knoebel, Ryan & Paige Redman, Juan Martinez, Martha Burke, Robin Leavitt, Terry Friedlander, Lupe Salamanca, Abelino Olmos, Carlos Hurtado, Gabriela Hurtado, Javier Zamora, Amy Aranda, Sally Gillespie, Jeanne Liston, Naomi Spence, Sarah Sentilles, Katie Corkery, Kristin Fletcher, Cristina Rose Cernansky, Tammy E. Davis, LeAnne Gelskey, Kaz Thea, Elizabeth Jeffrey, Darrel Harris, Mayor Fritz Haemmerle, Hailey City Council and City Staff.

Residents of neighboring communities were also recognized, including Margie Gonzalez, Alex Castaneda, Susana Rios, Enrique Munoz, Lucero Valdez, Rachel Reyes, Luis Valdez, Benjamin Reed and Jose Enriquez.

The festival was a wonderful gathering of many community members celebrating Hispanic culture and the strengths of a diverse community.
