Substitute (Guest) Information
Thank you for your interest in Blaine County School District Guest (Substitutes) positions. We hire Guests in accordance with the preferences listed in the “Qualifications” section of the Guest job descriptions. While we do hire a significant number of Guests each year, not everyone who applies will be hired.
In order to be considered for Guest positions in our District, you must:
1. Submit a complete online Guest Application
2. Submit an Absence Management Guest Preferences Form
You will need to print off the Absence Management Guest Preferences Form, complete it and either attach it to your online application, or submit it to the Human Resources Department in person, by fax, by mail, or by email to Jobs@blaineschools.org. If you have a 4-yr college degree or a valid teaching certificate, don’t forget to attach a copy of it in your online application, in the attachments section, or submit it directly to Human Resources.
Once we have received your completed online application and your Absence Management Guest Preferences Form, we will screen your application in accordance with the qualifications listed in the Guest job descriptions. If favorable, you will then be invited to participate in a mandatory orientation. The orientation will then be provided digital through SafeSchools. SafeSchools is an online system that will have a number of modules you’ll need to complete.
Once you have completed the required modules we will then contact you to schedule a time to come in to the District Office to complete your Guest Paperwork, including I-9 and Fingerprints. At that time, we will give you your Absent Management login information as well as your District ID badge (if all paperwork is complete).
Once hired as a Guest, you would be contacted and offered work assignments by Absence Management, and School Secretaries, on an “as-needed/on-call” basis. As a Guest, the number of substitute assignments you receive may vary due to several factors, including; your availability, the locations and positions you are willing to substitute in, and the frequency at which our regular staff are absent.
Employment as a Guest is “at will”, meaning, the District, or the Guest, may terminate employment at any time without reason or prior notice.
