Recognizing Excellence: Erica Petersen
The BCSD Board of Trustees is thrilled to recognize Wood River Middle School Registrar Erica Petersen!
The following accolade was submitted by Donna Pierson and Chris Koch:
"I am honored to nominate Erica Petersen for her outstanding contributions to our school. This year, Erica took on the role of Registrar, a brand-new position for her, after excelling as our PASS Room Coordinator. In that previous role, she developed strong relationships with students and helped them navigate middle school, setting them up for success.
Despite minimal training for her new position, Erica jumped right in before the school year even ended, assisting with the creation of our new master schedule. Throughout the summer, she worked tirelessly alongside counselors and administration, taking initiative and figuring things out on her own. Erica’s commitment extended beyond her registrar duties—she also manages substitute coordination, tracks time cards, and has been instrumental in organizing PSAT testing.
Erica is the epitome of a motivated, team player. She takes on every challenge with grace and efficiency, earning her the well-deserved title of our ‘Chaos Coordinator.’ Her positive energy, collaboration, and dedication make her an incredible colleague. Our staff is so fortunate to have her on our team.
In addition to her administrative work, Erica holds a teaching degree but chooses to serve our community in this unique capacity, despite the long hours and the unexpected, early-morning "sub-less" surprises. Somehow, she always finds a way to coordinate coverage and meet the needs of our students.
Thank you, Erica, for being a rock star every day. We truly don’t know where we’d be without you!"
