Born and raised in Delta Junction, Alaska, I initially attended the University of Alaska Fairbanks intended to be an Electrical Engineering major. Those plans changed and I transferred to the University of Wyoming, in Laramie, WY and graduated with a B.S. degree from the Kinesiology department for Physical Education Teacher Education Program. I've taught Elementary and Middle School (grade 4 through 8) in Delta Junction, AK, High School Physical Education and Health in Frisco, CO, and have been an Administrator for two free public charter schools, (K-5 & 6-12) in Cheyenne, WY. Through my paraprofessional and teaching years in Colorado and Alaska, I've also spent time as an Athletic Director and Coach (cross-county, basketball, track & field, and rugby). 

I met my wife, Morgan, in Colorado and we have three children (a fourth due in January!), Lowell -3 years, Heath & Griffith - 1 year identical twins, and a 5 year old Rottweiler named Rosie. We typically are around town at events, on the ski hills, or exploring some new trails but it has become a much more challenging event with the kids. We settled in Carey where the family is enjoying the quiet and the space, and we have enjoyed making friends with people in town and throughout the Wood River Valley.
