What does reading support look like at Bellevue Elementary School?

As you might expect, it looks as varied as the students that enter our school system. Take a look at students involved in activities that go far beyond their classroom instruction. Our programs at Bellevue Elementary are designed to fit student needs.

State and classroom assessments are given periodically throughout the school year. Teachers and specialists work together to determine which students may benefit from additional reading help. We offer extra support to students in Kindergarten through fifth grades. Follow the links at the top to learn more about our reading room.

Most children who have difficulty learning to read benefit greatly from intensive one-on-one or small group tutoring programs. Bellevue Elementary is a Title 1 school which means additional reading support is funded by the federal government. A key to the success of our program is extensive teacher instruction that focuses on the specific learning needs as well as parental involvement and support.
