Third Grade
-
Ms. Duvall, Bellevue Elementary's third grade teacher, help each student reach his or her potential -- academically, socially, and emotionally. Their goal is to nurture and guide each child toward becoming a life-long learner, as well as a happy, caring and responsible citizen of our country. Third Grade curriculum engages students in Reading, Writing, Mathematics, Social Studies, Science, Health, and Character Ed. In addition, our students receive classes in Physical Education, Music, Art, and Technology. Computer training and Library skills are also offered once a week.
Active participation and involvement on the part of students, teacher, and parents are key to each student's success. As classroom teachers, we actively work with the entire school team to meet each child's unique needs. Parents involvement is the most essential element in a child's education and the biggest and best investment you can make in your child's future! Students need to come every day ready and willing to learn.
Each year our third graders participate in community service in order to build character and come to an appreciation of all members within the community. Involving children in these kinds of activities not only gives them a greater sense of worth, but enriches our society as a whole, and creates well rounded citizens.
Over the years, we have found third grade to be a challenging transitional year for many students. Not only is the curriculum full of new skills and concepts, but students are expected to become more independent in completing work as well as becoming more responsible for their own learning. We foster this by creating a climate where all are nurtured, accepted, supported, and challenged.
Bellevue Elementary School truly is a thoughtful and caring place, and we have the good fortune to have the opportunity to work here.
