Science

  • The Blaine County School District believes students should engage in age appropriate hands-on, minds-on, and inquiry-based science throughout their academic careers. The K - 12 curriculum provides a structure for science through horizontally and vertically aligned key principles. Science actively engages students in building new knowledge from prior knowledge and real world experiences.  Authentic tasks are designed to inspire students to be curious and ask questions, explore thoughts, and learn from experiences. A hands-on approach to science develops lifelong problem solving skills with applications beyond the classroom. This takes place in cooperative and independent learning environments where students develop scientific practices.  Students understand the importance of scientific thinking as they use science in their everyday experiences.
