    Parents/Guardians:

Your Wood River High School Junior will be taking the SAT at school on Wednesday, April 17 during the regular school day.  Students will arrive at the Community Campus at 8:30 am and the SAT will begin at 9:00 am. The SAT is accepted at all U.S. colleges; it measures what students are learning in high school and what they need to know to succeed in college and careers. We’re pleased to provide SAT School Day to Wood River High School Juniors so that ...

    • Your teen is more comfortable and confident by testing in a familiar place.
    • You don’t have to worry about the logistics of getting your teen to a test center.
    • No one has to worry about weekend conflicts or disrupting family time!
    • It's free! The normal $60 registration fee is covered.
    • It fulfills the BCSD61 SAT graduation requirement.

What does your student need to bring for SAT day?

    • A charged Chromebook
    • A picture ID

Please reach out to our testing coordinator, Holly Rubenstein, if you have any questions.

    SAT Format

The SAT is composed of three main sections — Math, Evidence-Based Reading, and Writing. There is an optional 50-minute essay, and total testing time with the essay is 3 hours and 50 minutes. The breakdown of each remaining section can be found in the table below.

Together with Khan Academy®, SAT now provides  free, world-class test practice for all students. Every student can practice for the new SAT using Khan Academy's online tools, including diagnostic quizzes, full-length practice tests, interactive problems, and personalized practice recommendations. Our new Daily Practice for the New SAT app (available through the App Store and Google Play) allows for instant scoring of a practice test based on a paper-and-pencil answer sheet.
