Dear Families,

This is an important update to the families of Bellevue Elementary School in regards to the ongoing water quality evaluation conducted 9/7/22.

After the analysis of 86 water samples at Bellevue elementary, 5 were found to have values higher than the 15 parts per billion and above the EPA’s threshold for acceptable water consumption.  These five sources were identified as older faucets used in older parts of the building.   In response, our buildings and grounds department have removed the identified faucets, replaced them, and will now retest the water.  

Water samples from the new faucets will be sent for analysis to confirm the quality of water and help direct us in the next steps to provide clean drinking water for your children. This process will take approximately 2-3 weeks.  In the meantime, Bellevue Elementary School will continue to provide access to safe drinking water at  identified locations within the school.

Esta es una actualización importante para las familias de la Escuela Primaria Bellevue con respecto a la continua evaluación de la calidad del agua realizada el 7/9/22.

Después del análisis de 86 muestras de agua en la Escuela Primaria Bellevue, se encontró que 5 tenían valores superiores a las 15 partes por mil millones y por encima del margen de la EPA (Agencia de Protección Ambiental, por sus siglas en inglés) para agua de consumo aceptable. Estas cinco fuentes fueron identificaron de las llaves de agua más antiguas que se utilizan en las partes más antiguas del edificio. En respuesta, nuestro departamento de edificios y terrenos retiró las llaves de agua identificadas, las reemplazó y ahora volverá a analizar el agua.

Se enviarán muestras de agua de las llaves de agua nuevas para su análisis a fin de confirmar la calidad del agua y ayudarnos a orientarnos en los próximos pasos para proporcionar a sus hijos agua para consumo limpia. Este proceso tomará aproximadamente 2-3 semanas. Mientras tanto, la Escuela Primaria Bellevue continuará proporcionando acceso a agua para tomar segura en lugares designados dentro de la escuela.
