Mrs. Gallegos
I moved to the Wood River Valley in 1988. I graduated from Wood River High School. I received a Bachelor of Science in Child Development from the University of Idaho (Go Vandals!). I went on to live in Portland, OR and work at OHSU's Childrens Hospital after receiving my Child Life Specialist certificate. This beautiful valley called me back! I went back to school to get my K-8 teaching certificate from Western Governors and am currently working on my masters in school counseling. I have been working for BCSD since 2008. I worked at WRHS in the SPED department, I taught 4th and 5th grades and Bellevue Elementary and am now teaching my love for mathematics to 6th graders at WRMS!
When not at school, you can find me hiking, biking, skiing and enjoying our amazing valley with my family. I have a son in high school, a daughter in middle school and a husband who is a chef at Sun Valley.
I am very excited to be on the math journey with the students at Wood River Middle School. As William Paul Thurston said, "Mathematics is not about numbers, equations, computations, or algorithms: it is about understanding."
