What does literacy support look like at Hailey Elementary School?

Mission:  Our mission is to teach all students how to read and comprehend written text so that they may become independent readers and lifelong learners with a solid grasp of the written world that surrounds them.

What We Do: As literacy coaches, we collaborate closely with teachers to support them in the implementation of our schools reading program. We help analyze student assessments to determine each student's instructional level and their zone of proximal development.  

As reading intervention teachers, we provide small group reading instruction to support, supplement or extend the instruction that is being taught in the classroom. 

As reading specialists, we set high expectations for all students to reach their individual goals and maximize their potential.
