Crystal Deckard is a dedicated educator with a profound commitment to environmental stewardship and a passion for nurturing young minds. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Natural Resources and Environmental Studies, specializing in Environmental Education, from the University of Minnesota.

With over a decade of experience as an Interpretive Naturalist, Crystal has refined her teaching abilities in outdoor environments, instilling a deep love for nature and conservation in her students. After relocating to Idaho, she became a founding member of Syringa Mountain School, where she played a crucial role in designing the Science Curriculum to align with Waldorf Pedagogy, as well as contributing to the nature playscape and garden space. She served as the Science Teacher for three years before transitioning to a Grades Teacher. Her approach emphasizes building strong relationships with students and creating an inclusive classroom that supports diverse learning needs while providing an engaging and meaningful learning experience. Crystal holds an Idaho State Educator Certificate and is devoted to continuous professional development in education and related fields.

Outside of her professional endeavors, Crystal enjoys outdoor activities, including hiking, gardening, camping, boating, and fishing, all of which reinforce her dedication to a lifestyle intertwined with nature.

Crystal is enthusiastic about contributing to the growth and development of her students at Wood River Middle School and is determined to make a lasting impact in their lives, inspiring the next generation to appreciate and protect the environment.

Crystal Deckard es una educadora dedicada, profundamente comprometida con la gestión ambiental y apasionada por el desarrollo de las mentes jóvenes. Obtuvo su Licenciatura en Ciencias en Recursos Naturales y Estudios Ambientales, con especialización en Educación Ambiental, en la Universidad de Minnesota.

Con más de una década de experiencia como Naturalista Interpretativa, Crystal ha perfeccionado sus habilidades docentes en entornos al aire libre, inculcando en sus alumnos un profundo amor por la naturaleza y la conservación. Tras mudarse a Idaho, se convirtió en miembro fundadora de la Escuela Syringa Mountain, donde desempeñó un papel crucial en el diseño del currículo de Ciencias, alineado con la Pedagogía Waldorf, además de contribuir al espacio de juegos y jardín natural. Se desempeñó como profesora de Ciencias durante tres años antes de convertirse en profesora de primaria. Su enfoque se centra en construir relaciones sólidas con los alumnos y crear un aula inclusiva que apoye las diversas necesidades de aprendizaje, a la vez que ofrece una experiencia de aprendizaje atractiva y significativa. Crystal posee un Certificado de Educadora del Estado de Idaho y se dedica al desarrollo profesional continuo en educación y campos relacionados.

Además de sus actividades profesionales, Crystal disfruta de actividades al aire libre, como senderismo, jardinería, acampada, navegación y pesca, todo lo cual refuerza su dedicación a un estilo de vida en contacto con la naturaleza.
